Since 1980, Mr. Morales has served the University of Washington in various professional capacities. From 1985 to 1997, he administered an undergraduate outreach, recruitment, and admissions program serving underrepresented and disadvantaged student populations. From 1997 to 2001, he has served as Associate Director of Admissions, and Director of Recruitment within the Division of Minority Affairs administering undergraduate diversity outreach, recruitment, and pre-college programs. Since 2001, he has held the position of Senior Associate Vice President within the Division of Minority Affairs and Diversity. In this capacity he has oversight responsibilities in the areas of recruitment and pre-college programs coordination two GEAR-UP Partnership Programs, Upward Bound, Talent Search, and other Department of Education funded programs. He also serves as the divisional head of operations responsible for public relations, policy, budget and grants administration, and administrative operations. Mr. Morales serves on various professional association committees and has presented on diversity issues with PACRAO, AACRAO, The College Board, American Council on Education, Washington Council on High School-College Relations, and the Ford Foundation. More recently, he has served on the UW I-200 Administrative Work Group, The President¡¯s Advisory Committee on Diversity ¨C Outreach Subcommittee, UW Enrollment and Retention Policy Planning Committee, and is shaping and administering many of the undergraduate diversity outreach efforts. |
